This to insure sustainable and compatible development of the society as related to the nature of the land and of the cultural and economical features of the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the main sponsor of Hydroaid's activities. The Polythecnic of Torino is one of the co-founders with the Regional Council of Piedmont, the Provincial Council of Torino, the Municipality of Torino, the University of Torino the Compagnia di San Paolo, the Fondazione CRT, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture of Turin, ATO3 Torinese - (Turin water district agency), SMAT S.p.a (Turin metropolitan area water company), CSI Piemonte and ENAS - (Water Council of Sardegna).


Research interest: the main research interests can be divided in 5 topics.

  1. Transport processes in river, groundwater and hyporheic zone
  2. Fluid mechanics and numerical simulation for hydraulic problems
  3. Water supply and hydropower systems
  4. River hydraulics and morphodynamic
  5. Hystorical and landscape hydraulics.

Other research interests are related to eco-hydrology, the hydrologic application of information taken by dendrology for the reconstruction of time series and the application of the fuzzy logic for the management of pipe network. The application of neural networks to various problems is also present.


Scientific Production:
The scientific production is testified from 2 books, 2 book chapters, more than 30 papers on ISI journal, more than 50 abstracts or paper in procediing. 5 papers are actually in press on ISI journals.
