       - Experimental analyses for characterizing the performance  of water wheels.
       - Theoretical analyses for the estimation of power losses and efficiency of water wheels.
       - Numerical CFD simulations for investigating the water-machine interaction and to                    improve their design.
 
            ECOHYDRAULICS:
 
       - Numerical CFD simulations of fishways.
       - Optimal design of vertical slots fishways.
       - Experimental investigation of fish screens (beta trashraks).
 
            FLUID MECHANICS:
